Uruguay’s Coherence Fund Steering Committee approved a new joint project to strengthen civil society organisation capacity. Valued at US$295,000, the joint project will be financed by the One UN Coherence Fund and carried out by UNDP, UNESCO and UNFPA as part of the country’s One Programme. The Steering Committee also approved amendments to the Coherence Fund to improve programmatic and financial monitoring of joint projects and include the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Steering Committee. “This is the new way of bringing development assistance to Uruguay,” said Resident Coordinator Pablo Mandeville. “We are forging a new area of cooperation and joint work.” |
